Today I learned the process of Canonization, this is the way it goes (it begins after his/her death).

  1. His/her life & deeds are evaluated. If Church authorities approve, the Pope declares him/her “venerable,” which means “worthy of reverence.”
  2. If the Church authorities find sufficient evidence that he/she has performed at least one miracle, the Pope declares him/her “beatified,” or “blessed.”
  3. If the Church authorities find sufficient evidence that he/she has performed at least two miracles, the Pope declares him/her, a Saint (yay!).
